Fill a heavy-bottomed saucepan with a tight-fitting lid with water and salt. Add the rice and salt and then bring to a boil. Cover tightly and reduce to a simmer. Cook undisturbed 18-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand a few minutes. Fluff and serve.
